Medieval Mischief
John's Prattles:
"My opinion of medieval music goes as follows- Medieval music was limited to basic meters and the use of a hand drum, and also, it was generally used to accompany peasants dancing- really simple dances and simple songs to go along with it, and so medieval music is not my preferred music genre.
However, there are some chants that were used in medieval times... some of the music that was used by the roman catholic church at that time I like... [I like] the gregorian chants, and chants of one woman actually, named Hildegarde Von Bingen, who was a woman who wrote a lot of chant music in that time. I prefer the from renaissance on [musical genres] though with more complicated musical ideas."
Evil to unleash upon the Medieval musical genre/time period: Giant Teletubbies.

Teletubbies are not evil. They may be mind numbing to watch, and it may be questionable as to whether the show's content contributes any intelligence to the mind of a young child, but I highly doubt that the spawn of Satan dress up as large baby faced teddy bears with polygons on their heads. I tend to think as them looking more along the lines of DOOM creatures.
I do agree that the chanting can rock .

Stone banging fun!
I've decided to create this based on the so many times I've listened to Pachelbel's Canon. Actually I have yet to listen to the full orchestral version, just some rock versions. Yes, on YouTube.
My brother does not like that song. He plays the cello and is good. All the cello gets in that song is like 8 notes played over and over again throughout the whole song. Thats not just why he avoids that song like he does, its because he's believes its overplayed when there are better songs for the applications Canon is used for.
I say its sounds good as a guitar solo, and to each his own as to what songs they play at their weddings. Long as they get the mood they want and have fun!
So here I'm going to use John's interesting ideas about music and my immensely acute ability to be awesome to create what will hitherto be known by as...
PACHELBEL'S PRATTLES!
Next post, we will delve into the seven musical eras (periods?) of our world, starting with the Ancient/medieval era. Following our world's musical time periods, we will fire Rapid Lazorr shots at the moon and see if we can make a smiley face!
